How to make your foundation last ALL DAY with minimal touchups

1) Hydration: We have so many brides and clients who do not realize how important it is to drink lots of water! Did you know that we should all be consuming own body weight in ounces of water?! If you need some flavor to your water then add a little bit of lemon or lime in it! We also love these organic water flavor packets: Nature's flavors!

2) Moisturize: If you haven’t read how important it is to keep your skin moisturized then check out our last blog about oils. Here’s a test to see if you have oily skin: touch your nose when you wake up and if it’s not oily then you definitely don’t have oily skin. Most women get oily due to the increase sebum production and that means you are dehydrated. This can occur when you do not drink enough water AND you’re not properly moisturizing your skin. Here are 2 ways to keep your skin hydrated and moisturized:

-Moisturize your skin well at night with a face oil

-Moisturize your skin well prior to foundation application like using Josie Maran Organic Argon oil (under $20)

3) Prime, powder, and then liquid : It’s so vital to prime your skin because this is the way to keep your makeup in place! This will also provide wonderful coverage prior to even adding liquid foundation. Powder sets primer and keeps from oxidizing and gives fuller coverage. Once you have put your makeup on, it then needs to be set with a translucent loose powder. This will ensure your makeup  is set and locked into the skin. Also, you can add a couple of drops of argan oil to your foundation when applying to your face. We recommend that you add this in problem areas, like where fine lines and wrinkles are most prominent on your face.  These three steps should minimize the need to re-apply powder. For ladies with more oily skin, go ahead and set with another layer of loose powder. Remember, if you add more powder it can look cakey so apply a setting spray like La Roche-Posay to avoid this.
